As a local government bureaucrat, I obviously do not condone vandalism in any form. But as Banksy points out, there are many types of vandalism, not all done with a spray-can.

    That’s interesting, I especially like that when the billboards were removed all these shanty towns were revealed behind them.

Whilst I agree that unbridled brands seem to believe they have a licence to do what they like, I think the same general tenets are alive and well in many local authorities, who use my taxes to do virtually what they like, with added ‘condom’ that it is all done in the name of public services. For example, in my own council, encouraging residents to spy on each other’s gardens so that the council can fine them for not ‘keeping up appearances’, taxing people to death under the wrapper of health and safety and so on. At least private business is relatively honest about the fact they are trying to brainwash us?
